Council members in Newtown, Connecticut, voted unanimously Thursday to tear down the home of the killer responsible for one of the worst mass school shootings in American history.
In December 2012, 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot dead his mother at the home before heading to the nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School and killing 26 others -- 20 of them young children.
Council representatives contacted by AFP did not say when the demolition would take place. The school in the Connecticut town was torn down in 2013.
