New York City Mayor de Blasio took to Twitter for a rare online meet-and-greet with constituents – and got an earful from New Yorkers either nagging him about garbage and policy or lobbing digital rotten tomatoes.

"You can't seriously think that a few unruly topless performers in Times Square is a pressing issue, right??" wrote Brian Boucher, one of several tweets complaining about the administration's handling of the nuisance, the New York Post reports.

De Blasio has reportedly suggested tearing up a popular pedestrian mail to deal with the panhandling from the naked ladies and costumed characters.

Another groused: "Why does my local government appear to be more concerned with topless women in Times Square than the cost of rent?"

The list of complaints was long.
Another snarky tweet wondered who was really in charge, according to the Post.

"Is @CommissBratton typing the responses, or is he telling you what to say over your shoulder and you're typing?" a user named Alec wrote, referring to NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton.

Of 10 questions de Blasio answered, seven were related to policy issues, such as homelessness, education and income inequality. The rest scooped up softballs about his height, favorite poet and favorite boardwalk food, the Post reports.
"Funnel cakes, of course!" tweeted de Blasio, who the Post reports admits he doesn't normally operate his account, @BilldeBlasio.

The online talk with voters used the hashtag "#bdbchat."
Last April, the liberal chatted with six "regular" New Yorkers on Google Hangouts, four of whom turned out to be campaign supporters, the Post reports.
