Pelosi Opponent Launches Zombie Attack Ad

By    |   Monday, 01 October 2012 03:59 PM EDT

Republican John Dennis, who is waging a quixotic battle for the seat of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's in California’s 8th District, has released an ad that shows a Pelosi look-alike leading a zombie army in a mock animal sacrifice.

The piece was produced by Chris Burgard, who also put together the famous “Smoking Man” ad for Herman Cain’s presidential campaign, The Daily Caller reports.

The new spot is called the “Night of the Living Pelosi.” At one point viewers see yellow-eyed, blood-covered zombies grouped around a lamb. One is ready to plunge the knife into the animal, and the others are chanting “Pelosi.”

“We must first gut the sacrifice so that you can find out what is in the sacrifice,” Pelosi says. During debate over healthcare reform in 2010, the real Pelosi said, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

Just when the zombie is set to kill the lamb, Dennis enters the picture and stops him. “She is not a sacrificial lamb, and neither am I,” he says. “You’re strangling job creation Ms. Pelosi. You’re burying us alive under a mountain of debt.”

Burgard told reporters that Dennis turned to this ad after policy videos gained little traction. “In pop culture, there are more Americans who are interested in zombies than politicians,” he said.

In the 2010 election, Pelosi beat Dennis 80 to 15 percent, and this year’s outcome is expected to be little different.
