Several actors put together a video that discusses the findings of the Mueller report and accused President Donald Trump and his campaign of colluding with the Russians to win the 2016 election — and then covering it up.
The video was posted to Twitter and features George Takei, Robert De Niro, Martin Sheen, and others. The actors try to make the case Trump and his campaign knew about Russian attempts to infiltrate the campaign and influence the election. They referenced specific findings included in the Mueller report, which was publicly released in April.
"They interfered in the presidential election in sweeping and systematic fashion," Sheen said of Russia.
The other actors then gave different portions of the video's argument, saying the Russians staged a "massive covert operation . . . to help Donald Trump become president."
The group, which also included actors Jonathan Van Ness, Christine Lahti, Laurence Fishburne, Sophia Bush, Rob Reiner, Rosie Perez, and Kendrick Sampson, along with author Stephen King, went through portions of special counsel Robert Mueller's report that they said proved the Trump campaign and Russia colluded.
"The Trump campaign knew about Russia's illegal attack on our election," De Niro said. "They welcomed it and encouraged their help."
"That's collusion," Sampson added.
The video closes by urging the American public to read the Mueller report and form their own judgments.
