The Los Angeles Police Department announced it was activating a "citywide tactical alert" on Tuesday night in order to address any issues that may arise from the election results.
“The LAPD has declared a citywide tactical alert to ensure sufficient resources to address any incidents that may arise as a result of Election Day activities, but is not a result of any specific incident,” the department tweeted.
Several cities have prepared for protests and any conflict or unrest that may arise as a result of the election results.
According to the Washington Examiner, Los Angeles law enforcement also announced that laser pointers or laser-style devices are banned during any protest or demonstration.
