Anyone involved in the investigation into President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign associates ought to be fired — or jailed, according to Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
"The people who did this stuff have to be held accountable," Graham said, The Hill reported.
"That's just as important as changing the law. Those who took the law in their own hands and lied to the court and manufactured evidence, they need to pay a price as a deterrent."
Graham told The Hill that FBI Director Christopher Wray faces an "uphill battle" to prove the FBI culture can change.
"That means people have to get fired and some people need to go to jail," Graham told The Hill.
The comments followed the Senate Judiciary Committee's questioning of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz about his review of the controversial FBI investigation.
Horowitz told the commitee he is concerned "so many basic and fundamental errors" were made by the FBI as it investigated ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
