Actor Kirk Cameron hosted a second protest over California’s coronavirus restrictions ahead of Christmas, leading dozens of people in song in a Southern California parking lot on Tuesday.

“Let your voice be heard at this peaceful protest praising the Prince of Peace,” Cameron wrote on social media promoting the event, which drew between 75 and 100 people, according to KABC, with very few, if any, wearing masks.

Officials at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, California, where the protest was being held, described it as an unauthorized “non-sanctioned event” and condemned it as “irresponsible,” saying they asked the group to relocate.

"We continue to share our community's concerns over these irresponsible — yet constitutionally protected — events and have law enforcement on property,” the mall officials said. “We reached out to the organizer to ask that the event be moved."

California has reported record numbers of coronavirus cases in recent weeks, with more than 2,000 alone reported in Ventura County, where Thousand Oaks is located.

Thousand Oaks Mayor Claudia Bill-de la Pena condemned the first event Cameron hosted earlier this month, saying, "Liberty and freedom are very fragile and they come with great responsibility. Continuing to hold large gatherings and ignoring all guidelines, I feel, is un-Christian."
