Kellyanne Conway described President Donald Trump as the "best friend" to veterans on Friday.
The comments from Conway, White House counselor to Trump, came Friday during Fox News' "Fox & Friends."
They followed word the president's military parade will not happen in 2018 as planned and will be pushed back until at least 2019.
"I'm just happy this president has been the best friend to veterans – military parade or no parade this calendar year," she said.
"What he has done for our great men and women in uniform . . . over $700 billion in funding the first major pay raise they have had in many years. They have got the respect and the resources they need and they deserve. And look what he has done to our veterans . . . absent a parade.
"We don't need a parade to celebrate all this president has done for those brave men and women in uniform . . .
"I'm very proud to work for a man who loves this country and the men and women in uniform – parade or no parade."
President Trump posted a series of tweets on the topic Friday morning, saying he canceled the parade because the price was artificially inflated, vowing to hold a parade next year when the price "comes way down."
CNBC had reported the parade had been projected to cost $92 million.
But Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said: "I would discount that, and anybody who said (that number.)"
