Joy Behar tore into last week's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on "The View" on Monday, charging that Republicans are sympathetic towards Nazis.
"There's this penchant for Nazis now, you know with Charlottesville and the neos, and they're good guys on both sides, and now Marion Le Pen," Behar said on her ABC-TV talk show, referring to CPAC's speaking invitation to the right-wing French politician.
"It's like a lot of the people in the Republican Party that I remember, Bill Buckley, who fought in World War II, [Weekly Standard editor-at-large] Bill Kristol — those people who are so anti-Nazi are appalled by what's going on right now within this party."
Of Le Pen, Behar said: "The CPAC group invited this woman from France, Marine Le Pen, whose father [former National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen] was a Holocaust denier, a total fascist … and Marine Le Pen, the daughter, thinks her father was very good and right and everything else and they invited her."
