Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence seemed to suggest that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma are due to Mother Nature showing her "rage" at President Donald Trump and others who do not believe that humans are causing climate change.
Lawrence spoke with the UK's Channel 4 about her new movie "Mother!" Near the end of the interview, the subject of American politics was broached.
"It's scary. This new language that's forming, I don't even recognize it," Lawrence said regarding the state of affairs in the United States.
"It's also scary to know, it's been proven through science that climate change is due to human activity, and we continue to ignore it, and the only voice that we really have is through voting.
"And we voted and it was really startling."
Lawrence then got to the crux of her argument by suggesting Hurricane Harvey, which dumped more than four feet of rain on the Houston area last month, and Hurricane Irma, a deadly storm that's expected to hit South Florida this weekend, are nature's way of getting back at humans for denying climate change.
"You know you're watching these hurricanes now, and it's really hard especially while promoting this movie, not to feel mother nature's rage and wrath," she said.
Lawrence also took some shots at Trump, saying with a smile, "I don't find him confusing. I think I know exactly what he is."
Lawrence is an outspoken Trump critic. In May 2016, she relayed a story in which she hoped to find Trump at a concert they were both attending so she could swear at him on video.
