Jaime Harrison, the Democrat hoping to unseat three-term Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on Tuesday released an ad on Twitter featuring an endorsement by former President Barack Obama.
"Hey, South Carolina. If you want a senator who will fight for criminal justice reform, lower college costs, and make healthcare affordable, you've got to vote for my friend Jaime Harrison," Obama says. "This year, you can vote early, or you can vote on Election Day, Nov. 3. Early voting is happening right now. Go to iwillvote.com to find your early vote location. Make your plan and vote for Jaime today."
Harrison has outraised Graham, who has held the job since 2003, and has also given him a scare in the polls. RealClear Politics currently ranks the race as a toss-up.
Both Harrison and Graham set quarterly fundraising records in the third quarter, according to The Daily Caller, but while Graham pulled in $28 million — a record for Senate Republicans — Harrison topped that with $57 million.
