Two styles of Ivanka Trump-branded scarves
have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission over flammability concerns.
The scarves are made of 100 percent rayon, which can easily catch fire. About 20,000 scarves in the Beach Wave and Brushstroke Oblong styles are subject to the recall.
No injuries have been reported, but the CPSC said it noticed the scarves online and ordered samples that its experts then tested for flammability,
The New York Times reports.
"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled scarves and return them to the place where purchased for a full refund," the CPSC website says. "Consumers who purchased the scarves online will be contacted directly by online retailers with return instructions."
"This is a dangerous product," CPSC spokesman Scott Wolfson told the Times.
"We're disappointed to learn of the need for Global Brands Group, our license partner, to recall two styles of Ivanka Trump scarves," said Tricia Whalen, a spokeswoman for the Ivanka Trump Collection, "but we are relieved that immediate action is being taken."
The company is working to see that the problem is "fixed immediately," she said.
