Ivanka Trump tweeted support for Baltimore following her father's attacks on Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., and his Baltimore district.
"In spring 2017, after visiting the Center for Entrepreneurship at the Greater Baltimore Urban League, I donated proceeds from my book to fund a @NatUrbanLeague Women's Initiative, incubated in Baltimore, to assist women in starting and growing successful businesses," President Donald Trump's eldest daughter tweeted Tuesday.
"I encourage everyone to advance smart policy and/or support organizations that uplift the great people of 'Charm City,'" she added.
Trump over the weekend tweeted "no human being" would want to live in Rep. Cummings' "disgusting, rat and rodent infested" district.
He has since doubled down on his attacks, calling Cummings a "racist" who does "NOTHING for his very poor, very dangerous and very badly run district."
Ivanka Trump visited Baltimore in February 2017 for a sit-down with local business owners, former Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon, former Deputy National Security Adviser Dina Powell and National Urban League president and CEO Mark Morial.
She donated $100,000 of the proceeds from her book, "Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success," to the National Urban League following the roundtable.
