Report: Inhofe Slams Obama on Delaying New Environmental Rules

Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe charged on Thursday that the White House is delaying new environmental rules to try to boost President Barack Obama’s re-election chances.

Inhofe, the top Republican on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, told “Fox and Friends” that any new rules, combined with existing ones, “is probably greater than the cost of servicing” the nation’s $5.3 trillion deficit.

In his comments, Inhofe said the White House is deliberately stalling on the new regulations to keep from telling voters their actual costs.

“The president is planning on disobeying the law again, like he did in the WARN Act, and not coming out and saying what types of regulations are going to be until after the election,” Inhofe said on the program.

He was referring to the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act that requires employers with more than 100 workers to give 60 days' notice of plant closings and mass layoffs.
