President-elect Joe Biden's inaugural address Wednesday will emphasize the importance of unity, and the need for the country to come together, in a speech that will last about 20 to 30 minutes, according to Fox News.
Biden's inaugural team said last week the theme of the occasion, called "America United," focuses on a "new national journey" that "reflects the beginning" of a "path to a brighter future."
The team added the inauguration will illustrate the American public's "resilience, heroism, and unified commitment to coming together as a nation" and to "emerge as the indomitable force that a united America represents."
Presidential Inaugural Committee CEO Dr. Tony Allen said, "This inauguration marks a new chapter for the American people – one of healing, of unifying, of coming together, of an America united. It is time to turn the page on this era of division. The inaugural activities will reflect our shared values and serve as a reminder that we are stronger together than we are apart, just as our motto 'e pluribus unum' reminds us – out of many, one."
Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton will attend the event, which President Donald Trump will skip, making him the first outgoing president to not attend his successor's inauguration since 1869.
