Former GOP Arkansas Gov. and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee narrates a new ad urging Americans to vote according to conservative Christian principles next week.
“Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity,” he says in the spot for Value Voters USA. “Will you vote the values that will stand the test of fire?”
A conservative vote Tuesday amounts to Christian duty, the talk radio host says. “In generations past, the church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect its sacred rights and duties. This generation of Christians must do the same.”
Fighting for non-Christian issues just won’t get the job done, Huckabee says. “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”
Urgent Poll: Election Day Is Next Tuesday. Obama or Romney?
He cites several of the litmus test issues for conservative Christians. “Many issues are at stake, but some issues are not negotiable,” Huckabee says. “The right to life from conception to natural death. Marriage should be reinforced, not redefined. It is an egregious violation of our cherished principle of religious liberty for the government to force the church to buy the kind of insurance that leads to the taking of innocent human life.”
Huckabee doesn’t mention any candidates in the ad.
