Comedian Harry Shearer is developing a weekly satirical TV series about Donald Trump's presidency, according to Variety.
"I wanted to do this to start what I think is a future, if not the future, of topical sketch comedy," Shearer said. "With Donald Trump now set to be president, this could be comedy gold for the next four years."
The series, called "Too Soon," will present sketches using animation like the kind used in video games. Shearer released a clip from one sketch, a fictional version of the meeting between President Barack Obama and Trump in the Oval Office.
Shearer plays multiple characters on "The Simpsons," and appeared on "Saturday Night Live" and in the movie "Spinal Tap."
Shearer is also the host of "Le Show," a weekly radio show in which he discusses politics. In February, he released leaked audio of Trump appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
