A group of outspoken President Donald Trump supporters, including former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, former Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach, former MLB star Curt Schilling, and former Sheriff David Clarke, convened in McAllen, Texas, last week to discuss a new plan for building President Donald Trump's highly coveted wall along the U.S-Mexico border, Politico reports.

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon and U.S. Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee behind the viral GoFundMe campaign that has raised millions of dollars for the construction of the wall, were also there.

The group has been strategizing on how to use the nearly $21 million raised by the fundraising campaign, and believes it can build a mile of wall for $1.5 to $2.5 million, excluding the cost of purchasing private land – according to a 2015 Government Accountability and Oversight report, about two-thirds of the 2,000 mile border is privately owned or owned by states.

Kolfage said he is optimistic breaking ground on the wall will spur more donations.

Trump wants $5.7 billion in border wall funding, but Democrats will not agree to his demands.

"Oftentimes people will just wait for the government to do it," Kobach said. "In this case, the need is so urgent that they say they want to do it right now."
