Glenn Beck, the conservative radio talk show host, has warned that al-Qaida could try to attack the United States by using Ebola as a weapon.
Beck issued the warning on his show Wednesday as concerns continued to rise about the possible spread of the disease in Texas where the first case was diagnosed.
"Forget about an EMP, forget about weapons of mass destruction, you have them! They're carried around in a 150-pound bag of water called people. You go over to West Africa and you say to your jihadist friends,
'Go get infected,'" Beck said.
He added that there's a risk the terrorists will deliberately spread the disease by going to public places in America.
"Go get infected," he said the al-Qaida leadership might say. "Then get on a plane, go into malls, go wherever you want. Get across the border into America and infect them. Chaos is their goal."
Beck also pointed out that he was mocked by comedian Seth Meyers for making the prediction three weeks ago that Ebola would spread to Texas. He had pointed out that Texas prison guards are flying to and from Nigeria where the outbreak is spreading.
"
Guess what the headline today? 'Texas Hit by Ebola.' How did it happen? People flying to and fro! Geeze."
