Anchor Bill Hemmer has signed a multi-year contract with Fox News,
Mediaite reported.
Hemmer co-hosts
"America's Newsroom" with Martha MacCallum from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. eastern time weekdays. He is also covering the 1 p.m. hour while programming for that time slot is being finalized.
Fox News Channel president Roger Ailes announced the signing in a statement. "Bill Hemmer is a fantastic all-around newsman and a tremendous talent. One of his great gifts is his ability to work so well with everyone – there isn't an hour in our news lineup that Bill couldn't anchor. He's the consummate team player."
Hemmer has been with Fox since 2005. Before that he was with CNN for ten years.
He said, "There is no better boss in America than Roger Ailes. I'm proud to work for him and my wonderful, hardworking colleagues at FNC," according to
Variety.
