The Department of Homeland Security is the worst place to work among all big federal agencies, an annual survey of federal workers' job satisfaction shows.
The annual
"Best Places to Work" rankings from the Partnership for Public Service, released Tuesday, finds workers' job morale overall is at its lowest point since the analysis began in 2003, scoring 57 out of 100, compared with the private sector's score of 72 out of 100. The gap between public and private job satisfaction has tripled since 2010,

"There has been a failure of leadership," says Max Stier, president and chief executive of the Partnership for Public Service, The Post reports.
Only about 42 percent of federal workers said they were satisfied with the recognition they get for a job well done, compared with 61 percent of workers in the private sector who say they're adequately recognized and rewarded.
"There's a sense that favoritism plays a large role," says John Palguta, the Partnership for Public Service's vice president for policy.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration topped the rankings as best large federal agency, getting a score of 74.6 out of 100 for employee satisfaction and commitment, the
Post reports.
The other agencies in the top five are the departments of Commerce, State, Justice and the Intelligence community.
In the bottom five, ahead of Homeland Security — which got a score of 44 out of 100 — are the Air Force, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Army and Veterans Affairs.
