At least one employee at the Environmental Protection Agency downloaded the "Boycott Trump" app on a government phone, according to a nonprofit oversight group, Cause of Action Institute.
Employees have downloaded dating apps, games, and Netflix on phones funded by taxpayers, the report found.
The oversight group obtained the information about the employees' downloads in a Freedom of Information Act request inquiring about the use by employees of Signal, an app for encrypted text messaging, The Washington Free Beacon reported.
Cause of Action investigated the use of the Signal app, saying that employees could be avoiding federal government records laws by using the app.
"Records recently released to CoA Institute under the Freedom of Information Act now confirm that a number of EPA employees installed Signal, WhatsApp, and at least sixteen other messaging applications on their agency-furnished devices," the group said.
The Democratic Coalition Against Trump created the Boycott Trump app. The group calls itself "the nation's largest grassroots Resistance organization."
