Amid attacks framed as an effort to dig dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., is now vowing to sue CNN and The Daily Beast because the only way to challenge a "corrupt" media "lie" is "through the court system."

"Look, the sad part is I'm the last guy that wants to go into the courts, but the media has become totally corrupt that now they're willing to help and engage criminals, indicted criminals," Nunes told Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures." "These people are sick, and the only way they're going to be held accountable is through the court system.

"It's the only chance I have to get to the facts out for the American people, because they can't lie to a court."

Nunes' pending lawsuit will allege CNN and The Daily Beast as "likely conspiring to obstruct justice," as Democrats work with media to "dirty up" a sitting member of the House, he told Bartiromo.

"We are going to take both CNN and The Daily Beast likely into federal court right after Thanksgiving, and we hope they cooperate, because we are also going to be working with the appropriate law enforcement authorities, because it is not OK to work with someone who has been indicted on serious federal crimes to build a media narrative and dirty up a member of Congress," Nunes added.

Nunes said his case will not be shared in the media, because he is going to law enforcement and the courts to get the truth out to the American people, who he said "see through it."

"I can't compete with trying to debate this out in the public media when 90% of the media are totally corrupt, and because this is criminal in nature, and because it's so bad, it's so slanderous, we've got all the facts on our side, and we're going to file in federal court, because I am not going to compete with the media I have no chance of winning with," Nunes said.

"I will win in court."

The attack comes, Nunes said, as retaliation for his work on the House Intelligence Committee's impeachment inquiry.

"House Intelligence Committee Republicans continue to expose Democratic corruption and what always happens is, right when we expose them, what do they do? They go out to kill the messenger," Nunes said.

"So, this week, another fake news story, the problem with this week's fake news story is we actually caught them, and we caught them badly, and it also involved criminal activity."
