If former Vice President Joe Biden wins the Democratic presidential nomination, Pennsylvania is his in the general election, GOP pollster Frank Luntz predicted Thursday.
In an interview on Fox News' "Your World With Neil Cavuto," Luntz also repeated his controversial assertion that "at this point," Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., would be the probable Democratic nominee.
But, he said, "Bernie Sanders is one of the least electable candidates that the Democrats have" for the general election.
"Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida – those four states are going to do more to determine the election than the other 46 states combined, and Sanders is very strong in Iowa and very strong in New Hampshire," Luntz said.
He also argued President Donald Trump cannot win the general election with his base alone, and Democrats will not repeat the same mistakes as 2016, putting up more of a fight in rust belt states Trump snatched.
"Democrats know why they lost" in 2016, Luntz said. "If Joe Biden's the nominee, Joe Biden wins Pennsylvania, let's be candid here."
"Joe Biden is perfect for Pennsylvania and Bernie Sanders is perfect for Iowa and for New Hampshire,” he added.
At the end of the primary process, Luntz predicted there would be a "brokered convention" to decide the Democrats' nominee for president.
