President Donald Trump challenged CNN reporter Jim Acosta's assertion that the United States is experiencing a shortage of masks and other personal protective equipment, during a press conference Friday afternoon on CSPAN.
"If you look at these questions: Do we have enough masks? No. Do we have enough tests? No. Do we have enough PPE? No," Acosta said.
Trump quickly responded: "Why would you say no? The answer is yes. I think the answer is yes. Who said no?"
"We have more tests than anyone in the world," Trump said. "We have virtually every country in the world calling us, asking us 'How do we get these tests you have? Your testing is the best in the world'."
The president went on to say the United States has such an abundance of ventilators, he's willing to donate some to other countries in desperate need of the equipment.
"We're the envy of the world in terms of ventilators," Trump said. "Germany would like some. France would like some. We're going to help countries out."
