A new ESPN survey reveals most fans want their sports to resume, but they don't want to have to go to the arena to watch the games.
The ESPN Coronavirus Lockdown Fan Study included 1,004 sports fans older than 18 and showed that 65% favored sports leagues restarting their games, even with no fans in the stands.
About 76% said they wanted sports to return with no fans in the stands even if players had to live out of hotels and were strictly monitored. The NBA, NHL and MLB have all considered this option.
When sports finally makes its comeback, 88% of fans who call themselves avid sports fans reported they will watch as many games as possible.
The study was conducted around the country between April 17 to 20, but ESPN plans to keep questioning fans to gauge sentinel during the next few months.
