US Constitution Makes It Onto a Best-Sellers List

The nation's 2-century-old Constitution has finally made it on a top-10 best-sellers list.

The Conservative Book Club, announcing its second weekly "Conservative Best Seller List," said the National Center for Constitutional Studies' pocket version of the Constitution came in at No. 7 for the week of April 1-7.

"We are pleased to see that the Constitution of the United States is still a best-seller after 228 years," said Christopher Malagisi, editor of the Conservative Book Club, told the Washington Examiner on Thursday.

"Perhaps President [Barack] Obama should buy himself a copy as a reference guide."

The Examiner notes the popularity could have gotten a bump from Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential bid — or the controversy over Indiana's religious freedom law.  The center offers the pocket Constitution in bulk sales, which also could have sparked the run, the Examiner reports.

The Conservative Book Club list — which ranks conservative books that may be left off mainstream media lists — also highlights another newcomer, a book written by possible GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson, "You Have A Brain: A Teen's Guide to T.H.I.N.K. B.I.G.," which debuted at No. 10.
