Chelsea Clinton and her husband Marc Mezvinsky are hoping for a baby next year, she says.
In an interview with Glamour magazine, the 33-year-old Clinton said that she and her husband made the decision after her grandmother Dorothy Rodham (Hillary Clinton's mother) died in November 2011.
"It was such a fundamentally unmooring event for me," Clinton said. "I've never been so lost as I was when she passed."
So Clinton and Mezvinsky thought about what their priorities should be. "We sat down and said, 'Here's what we want to do,'" she said.
"The first thing on the list was simple: we want, God willing, to start a family. So we decided we were going to make 2014 the Year of the Baby."
And Clinton had a quip about what the Glamour reporter should do with that information: "Please call my mother and tell her that. She asks us about it every single day."
Chelsea Clinton works for the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. She recently declined to rule out the possibility of
running for office one day.
