The CIA has taken to referring to the WikiLeaks Task Force looking into the damage resulting from
the disclosure of thousands of secret files by its acronym, WTF, The Washington Post reported. The bit of levity, which sparked an LOL moment in the blogosphere, may stem from the fact that the controversy has left the CIA largely untouched.
The Post reports that “only a handful of CIA files” have surfaced among the thousands of diplomatic and military secrets the website has exposed. Nor does the information include much about either the CIA or its employees. Some CIA veterans told the Post that the lack of CIA information in the leaks was a vindication of their policy to restrict access to secret information.
A recently retired CIA official told the Post that the CIA "has not capitulated to this business of making everything available to outsiders. They don't even make everything available to insiders. And by and large, the system has worked."
