Sarah Palin's son-in-law has posted a photo of his infant daughter with a gun by her tiny, white-stockinged feet, along with an impassioned speech about his Second Amendment rights.
The snap on
Instagram shows Dakota Meyer, who's wed to Palin's daughter Bristol, adjusting a holster on his waist as his 7-month-old daughter Sailor Grace lies on a counter with the weapon beneath her.
"Carrying has always been important to me for my own safety but now it is imperative because now I have someone relaying [sic] on me," the 28-year-old decorated Marine writes.
Meyer then puts in a good word for the manufacturer of the holster, which is highlighted in a photo inset at the bottom right.
"Every day, everywhere I go, every time I carry and am honors [sic] to be using the Blood Stripe holster from @gcodeholsters," he says.
Sailor Grace, who is sucking on a pacifier and covered by a pink blanket, is oblivious to the weapon.
Earlier this month,
Meyer posted a photo of himself and his daughter behind a replica of a Gatling, a rapid-fire spring loaded, hand cranked weapon that was the forerunner to the modern-day machine gun.
The Palin clan — from the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential running mate of John McCain down to her kids — are vehement supporters of the right to bear arms.
