GOP members of the Senate Judiciary Committee say the panel could vote later this week on Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, The Hill reported.

The final decision rests with panel chairman Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, but Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said "Friday would be possible," the news outlet reported.

The committee is expected to hold a hearing Thursday to hear testimony from Kavanaugh and the woman who has accused him of sexual assault 36 years ago, Christine Blasey Ford.

"I'm ready to move forward after the hearing as soon as possible," said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., The Hill reported.

According to The Hill, if Republicans members wanted to vote Friday they would need to make notification Tuesday, absent a deal with Democrats.

Meanwhile, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said before a Monday night meeting of GOP committee members with Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., the lawmakers would have a "markup at the end of the week."

"I'm ready to do whatever [Grassley] wants to do," Hatch said when asked if there would be a vote Thursday or Friday. "I think he's ready to proceed, and I think we ought to by now."
