Americans' patience with social distancing and stay-at-home, no-work orders is running thin, and it will be just two more weeks until they collectively say, "enough," according to Bill O'Reilly on Newsmax TV.
"The authorities, the powers that be, have two more weeks – of cloistering people, of shelter in place," O'Reilly told Wednesday "Greg Kelly Reports." "Two weeks. You're seeing a crack now. Over the weekend it was anarchy in Huntington Beach, Orange County, California."
O'Reilly also pointed to uprisings against draconian measures in Michigan and Brooklyn, New York, adding Americans will be fine with wearing face coverings in public through the summer, but they will not stand for staying home any longer than two more weeks.
"It's starting to crack," O'Reilly added to host Greg Kelly. "We've got two more weeks of this, then people are going to say, 'enough.'"
O'Reilly lamented the media coverage of the pandemic has proven to be more dangerous than the "temporary" virus.
"Right now in America, we have a media that hates Trump – 80% of the media in America despise him," he said. "So every news story, including the pandemic, is tilted, spun in a direction to make the president of the United States look bad.
"Therefore the truth of the matter, whatever it may be, is lost, because the national press doesn't care about facts anymore. They care about removing Donald Trump in November.
"And that is dangerous and it's been going on for awhile, and it is a bigger threat to our country than the temporary virus."
Even President Donald Trump's infamous injecting disinfectants quip was blown out of proportion by hate-Trump activists in the media, O'Reilly said.
"I think the president knows he made a mistake with the musing about whether things can be injected in people and light can be used," he said. "He didn't do anything wrong, but he opened the door for the Trump haters in the media to mock him and to denigrate him and to create an incident."
In this environment, Trump has be wary of a media waiting to pounce on him, because any quips can "lead to misunderstandings," O'Reilly said, concluding the settling of the pandemic and getting America back to business will ultimately decide his fate in November.
"'If this doesn't calm down, I lose,'" O'Reilly said, hypothetically quoting Trump.
"If he gets it under control, I think he wins, but he's got to get it under control."
