Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle jetted to Chicago on Wednesday to unveil new details of the future Obama Presidential Center.
The two-term commander-in-chief is expected to talk about the ambitious $500 million project during an event at South Shore Cultural Center, The Chicago Tribune reports.
A 3-D model of the design will also be unveiled.
The center, designed by husband-and-wife architects Tod Williams and Billie Tsien of New York, is expected to open in Chicago's Jackson Park in 2021.
Last year, Obama said he and his wife were "thrilled that the Obama Presidential Center will be developed in the heart of Chicago's South Side, a community we call home and that means the world to us."
Chicago beat out such competition as Hawaii and New York to be the site of the Obama library.
