U.S. Will Solve Deficit Problem ‘Proactively,’ Paulson Says

April 15 (Bloomberg) -- Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said he was “optimistic” about the U.S. economy and expected “tremendous innovation” to come from the world’s largest economy.
The U.S.’s biggest fundamental problem at the moment is the deficit, which the market will force it to solve “proactively” at some point, Paulson said at the Boao Forum in the southern Chinese province of Hainan.
