Son of Arkansas Governor Busted For Illegal Drugs

The 40-year-old son of Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson was arrested over the weekend at an Alabama music festival after police found him in possession of drugs including ecstasy, KATV reports.

Asa William Hutchinson III, was entering the Hangout Music Festival, featuring headliners Alabama Shakes and Lenny Kravitz, when Gulf Shores police saw him trying to hide something in his waistband.

They found “a baggie containing two capsules of Molly and four ecstasy tablets,” the station said. Hutchinson was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and released on a $5,000 bond.

On Monday, the Republican governor said of his son’s arrest:

“Well, those are the days that it's tough to be a parent and it's tough to be a son. And I think every parent and every son would identify and understand that problem. And my son's an adult and he will have to address this just like he has had to address other things in the past.”
