Calling for the world to "embrace civility," the Anti-Defamation League National Director Emeritus Abraham Foxman denounced the politicization of the Pittsburgh Synagogue massacre.

"Let's deal with the Pittsburgh massacre for what it is — age-old ugly, crude, and cruel ANTI-SEMITISM! No need to politicize it," Foxman tweeted Saturday.

A gunman opened fire during a baby naming ceremony Saturday morning at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood, reportedly yelling "All Jews must die," while storming the facility, Reuters reported, citing KDKA television and police sources.

There were 11 fatalities and six police officers wounded in the attack.

An anti-Semitism activist, Foxman was the ADL's national director from 1987 to 2015 and now serves as the national director emeritus. In an earlier tweet, he called on the world to "embrace civility."

"A reminder of how deadly anti-Semitism still is, even in USA," Foxman tweeted. "Let's challenge pervasive hate, educate against it, embrace civility. #Pittsburg."
