Ann Romney Talks Obamacare Rollout, How Mitt Feels on Fox Business

By    |   Wednesday, 20 November 2013 02:35 PM EST

Ann Romney said her husband is "very angry" and "very frustrated" that the president "did not tell the truth about" Obamacare when he pitched his signature legislation to the American people.

In an interview with Fox Business' Lori Rothman on Tuesday, Romney shared her view of the Obamacare rollout and the fact that millions of Americans have lost their health care coverage as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

"My heart goes out to all those individuals who are having their policies canceled with no other option to find a replacement," Romney told Fox Business. "It's terrible. It's really awful. I'm hoping these things will resolve themselves quickly."

Romney then remarked that her husband, during his 2012 campaign against President Barack Obama, had "predicted that this would happen," prompting Rothman to ask about Mitt's recent comments about Obamacare.

In an interview with NBC’s "Meet the Press" earlier this month, Mitt Romney characterized the president's promise that Americans could keep their insurance under Obamacare as "fundamental dishonesty."

"He wasn’t telling the truth," Mitt Romney told NBC News. "That fundamental dishonesty has really, has really put in peril the whole foundation of his second term. I think it is rotting it away."

Romney backed up her husband's comment.

"[Obama], as you know, made the promise repeatedly that we would not lose your policy," Romney said. "And of course we know that that did not turn out to be the case."

"I think Mitt's very angry about it, and I think he's very frustrated that they did not tell the truth about this," Romney added. "I think if people had known ... I'm not sure how many people would have supported the bill and even how many Democrats would have [supported it]."

Romney was appearing on Fox Business to promote her recently published cookbook, "The Romney Family Table."

The book contains 130 family-favorite recipes, family photos, personal reflections and many traditions that she says have helped to keep her family close over the years.

Proceeds from the book will go to the Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. Romney was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998.
