Will New Gun Owners Defend Their Rights Against the Left?

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) announced that during the period of time running from January to June 1, of this year a record number of gun transactions took place in the United States.

Even more interesting, the NSSF estimates 2.5 million of the transactions involved first-time gun owners.

Jim Curcuruto, the NSSF director of research, observed the wave of purchases was "unlike any other year for firearms purchases."

Hmmm. We wonder why?

The last time firearms flew out the door like this was under the Obama administration’s jihad against the Second Amendment and gun owners. Today Barack is out of office and Michelle claims to have no interest in being Joe Biden’s vice president pick, so the phenomenon can’t be traced back to the Obamas.

Could it be that at least 2.5 million Americans realized the left’s "common sense gun laws" only applied to the law-abiding and that when push comes to shove those same politicians will be protecting the criminal and not the citizen?

The new owners interviewed by Fox News certainly supported the latter conclusion.

Carlene and Jake are stereotypical young parents in California. The couple "went back-and-forth about purchasing a firearm."

Then the "peaceful protests" pushed them off the dime.

"With everything going on in both the world and politics and everything, you can't really be too safe," Carlene explained.

"We have a family, a young family, so I think that's always on the back of my mind, as well. I think with a lot of the riots and such like that, it's important to – if your First Amendment isn't protected, I guess you always have the Second, right?"

Carlene is making progress, but she’s not with us yet.

Five years ago, we always thought we’d have the First Amendment that protects free speech and the right to worship.

Little did we know the Constitution goes on life-support when a virus comes to town.

The left has even greater enmity toward the Second Amendment and Carlene and Jake don’t realize it. "They told Fox News they have received their licenses and are now waiting for their firearms to arrive because they’re on back order."

As if waiting for permission from the government to own a firearm that is guaranteed as a right by the Bill of Rights is perfectly normal.

And since Carlene and Jake live in California, they will soon realize they must pass a background check and receive the government’s permission every single time they want to buy a bullet!

We’re glad there are now 2.5 million new members of the gun–owning community.

What we’re hoping for is these new owners will also become protective of their newly exercised Second Amendment rights and vote against leftist politicians who see gun owners as an enemy to be suppressed.

We’re hoping the progression is from bullets in June to ballots in November.
