Leftist California Gov. Gavin Newsom has gleefully signed a bill that will go a long way toward training California’s next high school shooter. This foolish and dangerous bill, as reported by KABC, bans “all state public and charter schools from suspending students for ‘willful defiance,’ which includes disrupting class or openly resisting directions from teachers.”

Sen. Nancy Skinner (D-Detached from Reality) is very proud, too. “She said ending willful defiance suspensions may be one of the best ways to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline, by keeping kids in school where teachers and counselors can help them.”

That’s particularly rich when we note that in the same week a book titled "Why Meadow Died: The People and Policies that Created the Parkland Shooter and Endanger America’s Students" has been published. The Miami Herald describes it as, “written by Andrew Pollack, the father of Meadow Pollack, who was one of the 17 people killed on Feb. 14, 2018, during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Seventeen more people were injured during the massacre.”

Meadow was shot and killed by a ‘student’ who had avoided the “school to prison pipeline” and been kept in school, despite repeated discipline violations, by a program much like the law California just passed.

As early as the 8th grade the shooter’s language arts teacher “wrote in a behavioral analysis of [the shooter] that she felt strongly that “[he] is a danger to the students and faculty at this school.” And that was just the beginning.

He brought dead animals to school. He brought knives to school. He physically attacked other students in school. He made threats in school. He was considered so dangerous — while still IN SCHOOL — that he was not allowed to bring a backpack on the school grounds for fear it might contain weapons.

And to top this mountain of misguided ‘compassion’ and incompetence off, on the day of the shooting a ‘school safety monitor’ saw him walking on campus with a rifle case and did absolutely nothing.

As the National Review warns, “Broward County’s lax discipline has, perversely, been treated as a model for the rest of the nation because it reduces suspensions, expulsions, and arrests and thereby allegedly slows down the 'school-to-prison pipeline.'”

Now California has climbed aboard the School Shooter Express.

Parents, you’ve been warned. Your children are at risk in California if you don’t do something about it. Now.
