If one is a big government supporting leftist — with all the right opinions — who happens to stumble, the landings are always soft if the government and its propaganda arm, the Opposition Media, have anything to say about it.

California Senator Dianne Feinstein has been a big-government leftist for her entire 26-year, trough-feeding career. She is a crucial minion in the Washington spending, sanctuary, consonant-crusading swamp. Her former staffers, consultants, contributors, and allies are found burrowed into the Deep State that rules us from behind the scenes.

Feinstein is the former head of the Senate Intelligence Committee and as such she had access to our nation’s most sensitive intelligence information. Now five long years later (the Deep State protects its own) we learn that in 2013 Feinstein was informed by the FBI that her employee listed on payroll records as an “office director” (hat tip to Marc Thiessen) was in reality a Chinese spy.

For 20 years the employee had been on the payroll of China’s Ministry of State Security while he was simultaneously on Feinstein’s San Francisco office payroll.

Does this situation ring a bell? Does it sound similar, but somehow different from recent news?

Yes, it does and yes, it is. Compare how the FBI treated the Feinstein genuine spy with how the FBI treated the alleged spy in the Trump campaign.

The FBI identifies a long-term Chinese spy in Feinstein’s office that has worked for her for 20 years. Feinstein is contracted privately by the FBI and warned. FBI has a suspicion Russia has recruited a low-level, unpaid volunteer in the Trump campaign. Trump is not notified and the FBI attempts to plant its own spy in the campaign.

Feinstein forces her spy to “retire” and it takes five years for the story to leak. The Trump volunteer is approached by an FBI spy as part of the secret investigation into Trump’s campaign and he is subject to intensive spying by electronic means through a FISA court warrant.

Five years after he was caught, Feinstein’s spy remains anonymous and protected — unless he’s had a victory parade in Peking that didn’t make the news. Carter Page, the innocent Trump unpaid volunteer, is a household word.

Feinstein’s spy also remains unindicted and un-arrested. He may even be collecting retirement from the U.S. government. Carter Page is also unindicted and un-arrested, but he was innocent all along. He is, however, vilified as a “Russian tool” from coast to coast.

Feinstein claims that in 20 years of close association her Chinese spy never had any access to any important information and if we don’t believe that, we can take Diane’s word for it. President Trump says he never colluded with Russia during the campaign and he is still the subject of Robert "Ahab" Mueller’s witch hunt.

Finally, Feinstein’s proven tale of spying and incompetence has disappeared from the news, while the unproven Russia collusion story is inescapable.

If the disparity in treatment and the selective enforcement of law between the swamp insider and the outsider by the federal government and the "impartial" news media doesn’t bother you, you haven’t been paying enough attention.
