We have been told for decades by abortion advocates that their procedure is an anodyne "choice," but recently we’ve learned it seems that it is a choice that is not optional for the rest of us.
In response to the China flu many governors have ordered clinics and hospitals to stop all elective surgical procedures until the pandemic is over. This is designed to save scarce medical supplies for hospitals treating coronavirus victims.
With that in mind, what could be more elective than a procedure that is first and foremost a "choice"? Taking abortion cheerleaders at their word, Alabama, Iowa, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas have all placed a temporary ban on any abortion "not medically necessary to preserve the life or health" of the mother.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced, "The temporary stay ordered this afternoon justly prioritizes supplies and personal protective equipment for the medical professionals in need."
That’s when we learned that as far as Planned Parenthood is concerned the choice to have an abortion is mandatory and not to be hampered in any way.
The response of the abortion industrial complex to this temporary ban is instructive.
At a time when federal and state officials are taking extraordinary precautions to save lives, Planned Parenthood is going to court in an effort to overturn an order that prevents them from taking the lives of the unborn.
Evidently the bloody wheel at the abortion mill is never to stop grinding.
As CBS reports, "In a matter of days, the Center for Reproductive Rights, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Lawyering Project filed a joint complaint, asking a federal court for an immediate temporary restraining order, calling the directive 'unconstitutional.'"
The temporary ban by the states had been upheld by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals which overturned an earlier abortion rights order from a lower court. The abortion fanatics, in a remarkable demonstration of tone-deaf outrage, cited that lower court ruling and said, "women will suffer irreparable harm" if they can’t visit irreparable harm on their unborn child.
Taking the temporary stop at face value it’s obvious no medically necessary abortion — we are told such a thing exists — would be prevented by the China flu order.
The only abortions that will even be delayed are the "choice" or convenience abortions.
It looks like even the thought of a woman taking time to reflect on her "choice" and possibly change her mind is too much for the abortion fanatics to endure.
