In the run-up to the final debate in Boca Raton, Fla., the latest NewsmaxZogby Tracking Poll shows Mitt Romney leading Barack Obama among high-income earners and investors when it comes to whom they would trust with their money.
The highest income bracket ($100,000-plus) in the poll favored Romney over Obama 48-35 percent. And those identified as the “investor class” overwhelmingly favored Romney over Obama — 56-34 percent.
Overall, respondents were evenly divided: 42 percent said Obama, 42 percent Romney when questioned on who they would trust more with their money.

Among those earning $25,000 or less per year, 43 percent weighed in favor of Obama, with 36 percent saying they trusted Romney more. Union members favored Obama over Romney 47-33 percent.
The president lead the former Massachusetts governor — 47 percent to 37 percent — when likely voters rated which candidate acted more presidential in the previous debate.
The president led among female voters and independents as well when asked the same question of those polled who watched or heard about the debate: 51 percent favored Obama over Romney (33 percent). Men were split with 43 percent for each contender.
The president scored high among independents, with 46 percent favoring Obama, and 34 percent favoring Romney.
Respondents were sharply divided among age groups when asked who acted more presidential after the two squared off on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Those 18-29 chose Obama over Romney 61 percent to 26 percent. Those 65 or older chose Romney over Obama 58 percent to 31 percent.
When asked to assign a letter grade for their performance, Obama earned an A or a B among 56 percent of respondents, and Romney earned the same among only 48 percent of respondents. It was more bad news for Romney among independents: 56 percent gave Obama an A or B, while only 44 percent rated Romney as high.
Of the 854 likely voters polled, 51 percent said they watched the debate in its entirety; 22 percent said they watched “some of it.”
When asked if the debate changed their minds about prospective candidates, 1 percent said they were switching to Romney, 2 percent said they were switching to Obama; 41 percent overall said they were sticking with Obama and nearly the same amount, 40 percent, said they were sticking with Romney. Eleven percent were undecided.

The NewsmaxZogby Poll of U.S. likely voters sampled 36.9 percent Democrats, 35.3 percent Republicans, and 27.8 percent independents; 74.4 percent were white, 10 percent Hispanic, and 12 percent African-American; 18 percent were ages 18-29, 39 percent ages 30-49, 25 percent ages 50-64, and 18 percent 65 or older.
Using information based on census data, voter registration figures, CIA fact books, and exit polls, complex weighting techniques were employed to best represent the demographics of the population being surveyed.
The margin of error for the NewsmaxZogby poll is plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
