The White House is delivering to senators President Donald Trump's fiery letter aimed at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with two Christmas cards, says Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn.
Murphy tweeted Wednesday:
"True story: there is a White House staffer going around the Senate delivering to each office, as a package, the incoherent, scathing Pelosi letter AND...wait for it...a giant 16x12 White House Christmas card (along with, implausibly, a second smaller Christmas card)."
Sen. Richard Blumenthal also tweeted about the delivery, saying:
"Thanks for this card & your 6 page impeachment screed. Bizarrely delivered together. Happy Holidays & best wishes for the coming year!"
The White House told The Hill the cards were handed out in separate envelopes.
Trump in his 6-page letter to Pelosi blasted the House's impeachment hearings, accusing Democrats of "perversion of justice and abuse of power" in their effort to remove him from office."
Pelosi called the letter "sick."
The House is expected to vote Wednesday on two articles of impeachment against Trump, abuse of power by his office and obstructing Congress by aggressively trying to block the House probe from its oversight duties.
