Wash. Post: Reports of Unsatisfied Trump Voters Inaccurate

Reports that voters are wholly unsatisfied with President Donald Trump aren't quite accurate, the Washington Post reports.

The Post story dials in on a New York Times article titled, "Trump Voters in a Swing District Wonder When the 'Winning' Will Start," which explores how voters from a key congressional district in Pennsylvania are unhappy they picked Trump. But it's not an accurate microcosm, argues the Post.

It's mostly Democrats who think Trump has underperformed according to two recent polls. A poll conducted by the Pew Research Center shows 32 percent of Democrats say Trump has done worse than expected as President while 38 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents say he has performed better.

Another poll released Monday by Gallup said when people were asked whether the president kept his promises, Trump's numbers declined from 62 percent to 45 percent. While percentages among Republicans declined, too, from 92 percent to 81 percent, the figure was still high.

In addition, the president's overall approval rating of 41 percent stands in line with his numbers in November upon Election Day, the Post reports.
