Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich Friday said there have been emails coming from "all over the country" claiming incidents of vote fraud and insisted that they will have to be examined before the election can be declared over.
"We just this morning got one alleging there were 1,400 dead people voting in Michigan," Gingrich said on Fox News. "We have begun checking it. The first 10 people we looked up were dead and did vote quite successfully. We have had all sorts of strange things happening from a Georgia perspective. Savannah finds 15,000 votes that they had somehow misplaced. I have great doubts."
In addition, in several locations, especially Philadelphia, observers were being kept from observing the vote counting, said Gingrich.
"In some parts of the country, they were actually putting up covers on the windows so you could not look in, and I would suggest to you, there is an awful lot of this kind of thing going on," said Gingrich.
He also said in Philadelphia there were 23,000 ballots in "one dump" and none were for President Donald Trump.
He also complained that the internet is "literally cutting people off" from reporting the incidents of fraud.
"I think if you are a conservative, you really do have the sense that something very fishy is going on and that everything possible to suppress looking into it," said Gingrich. "This could easily run two or three weeks and then maybe longer, depending on what we discover."
Show anchor Bret Baier told Gingrich that "we haven't seen that level of fraud," but Gingrich said there is a "double standard."
"You have a precinct where they don't let anyone in," he said. "They boarded it up and in some cases, they put a tractor in front of the door. And we are supposed to say, 'Oh, I'm sure that is an honest precinct and they are just misunderstood.'"
Gingrich said that he would not count votes from any precincts that block poll observers because there is no reason to believe they are honest.
"They have by definition proven that they are covering up something. So the burden would be on them to prove that they are being honest," he added.
