The eldest son of President Donald Trump hailed kudos for Veterans Affairs reforms which saw "hundreds of VA officials fired" since the Inaugural, an effort to "replace bureaucrats" with "thinkers," Donald Trump Jr. tweeted Sunday.

The VA announced Friday it would make its disciplinary actions against employees public to help aid reforms of the maligned government agency under the Trump administration. It is the first government agency to make employee disciplinary data public.

"Veterans and taxpayers have a right to know what we're doing to hold our employees accountable and make our personnel actions transparent," new VA Secretary David Shulkin said. "This additional step will continue to shine a light on the actions we're taking to reform the culture at VA."

In June, Shulkin announced a new law signed by President Trump to ease restrictions on the firing of VA employees, calling it necessary to reform the damaged organization.

The VA website va.org was redirecting to an error page, a sign it was down, hacked, or undergoing website maintenance at the 1:30 p.m. ET aggregating of this story Sunday, July 9 on Newsmax. By 3 p.m., the website was back up and running, including the new accountability page and the July 3 Adverse Action Report.
