U2 star Bono on Sunday praised Sen. Marco Rubio while slamming President Donald Trump, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Bono made the comments during the U2 concert in Miami, which was attended by Rubio. He lauded the Florida senator for his support for programs that combat the AIDS virus while also ripping Trump's proposed budget cuts.

"By people like your Senator Marco Rubio, who is fighting for this stuff and I want to thank him here tonight. I want to thank him because it's not good to see these people as I've seen them," he said. "These budget cuts by this president could undo the work, the great work of the United States of America. So send him a message. This country does incredible things when it works together... as one."

Bono is also a well-known activist in the fight against AIDS.
