Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, took a swipe at NBC News over the weekend after the network reported Russia supports her candidacy for president.

Gabbard tweeted in response to journalist Glenn Greenwald, who reported on NBC's story.

"@ggreenwald exposes that @NBC used journalistic fraud to discredit our campaign. But more important is their motive: 'to smear any adversary of the establishment wing of the Democratic Party — whether on the left or the right — as a stooge or asset of the Kremlin,'" Gabbard wrote.

NBC cited experts who said the Russian propaganda machine is promoting Gabbard and her presidential run. The network reported websites and social media accounts with links to the Kremlin have been publishing pro-Gabbard content since she confirmed her presidential aspirations Jan. 11.

The stories that appeared on websites such as RT, according to NBC, were favorable toward the 37-year-old Gabbard.
