Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, said Thursday that she supported the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump but that she opposed a "partisan pursuit of impeachment" because of "how terribly divisive it would be for a country."
"This is not going to be good for the American people and it's not what's best for our country," Gabbard said by satellite link to the Presidential Town Hall sponsored by Newsmax and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
"I'm running for president to defeat Donald Trump — and I think that the best way to defeat him would be for voters to exercise their voices at the ballot box.
"To get him out of the White House.
"Gather the information and then make an informed decision about what's in the best interest of our country to move forward."
