President Donald Trump has moved to copyright the slogan he said would be the theme of his 2020 re-election campaign, "Keep America Great."

According to The Washington Times, Trump's legal team filed paperwork with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office last Wednesday, two days before he was sworn into office as the nation's 45th president.

The Times reports that the application stipulates the slogan can be used for certain articles of clothing like T-shirts and tank tops, along with "baby clothing, namely, one piece garments," and "printed publications, namely, pamphlets providing information regarding Donald J. Trump as a political candidate."

Trump's 2016 presidential campaign slogan was "Make America Great Again," a phrase he filed trademark paperwork for in November 2012. The application was approved in July 2015.

Former President Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, who served as Reagan's vice president before winning the 1988 presidential election, campaigned with the slogan "Let's Make America Great Again" ahead of the 1980 election. The pair did not trademark the phrase, Trump said recently.
